Aecom Case Study
As part of a move to a new office, AECOM introduced a new flexible working strategy that included a move away from fixed offices and greater use of technology and optional working spaces. Cognicity worked with AECOM staff, starting with the senior leadership team on identifying mindsets and unconscious biases that would inhibit fast and effective adaptation to the new working spaces and flexible work arrangements. Workshops were conducted across divisions in different locations and included the identification and development of adaptive mindsets and strategies for effective flexible working.
A key feature of the adaptive mindsets and strategies developed in the workshops was that they were grounded in the work and the new work arrangements of the AECOM teams, including cross functional teams. AECOM used the flexible work arrangements as a means for introducing greater collaboration, and greater trust with their workforce, all underpinned by adaptive mindsets and strategies for leaders and team members.
